Morning Routine

The morning routine is always the same in my internship classroom. During this task I lead part of a morning routine. I have watched my CT do the morning routine all the time so I was very comfortable doing it. When I walked into the classroom that morning I put my stuff down and started to greet the students as they walk in. Then I went over to the white board and changed the date. I always see my CT write the date all the way out in word form and then also put the numbers. For example, I wrote down that morning, "Thursday, November 3, 2016" and also wrote down "11/3/16." I think my CT does the date both ways so that the students know how to write and read it both ways. Also, it can remind the students that the number 11 is meaning the eleventh month and that is November. Then I went over to the schedule and changed the day and what specials the students were going to for that day. I think that having the right schedule on the board helps the students know what's happening for that day and can keep the teacher on schedule with the time. Then the last thing I did for part of the morning routine is turn on the TV for the morning show. The morning show is very important for students to watch because it tells the students the news and upcoming events happening in the school. Also, the morning routine is something where the students have the time to finish their breakfast or anything thing else before the day starts. I think if you have a good morning routine then the students are more likely to start their day on a positive note.
