Greeting the students has to be one of the best parts of the day. It was my second week interning and I wanted the students to get more comfortable with me and for me to learn more about them. So the task of greeting every student and learning something about each one was perfect for this week's task. The students already knew who I was so they greeted me back right away. Some of the students were shy but they would say hello back to me and others started to speak before I even could. I am starting to learn which students are more open and like to talk over the shy ones that really don't say too much. Is it because they have to get use to me or are they always shy? I want to be able to have the more sky kids open up and feel comfortable around me. After greeting all the students I placed a sticky note their desks and asked them to write anything they wanted me to know about them. Some of the students were asking why they had to do this and I told them that I just wanted to learn something about them. Other students didn't know what to write so I said, "For example, write what your favorite animal is or your favorite color." I could tell they wanted me to read them right away so while picking the sticky notes up I would read it and say something about what they wrote to me. This task really got me to learn more about the students and they were really excited about it.
