Goal of Classroom Management

In my opinion the goal of classroom management is having the students stay on task and learn the lesson that are being taught to them and also having minimal behavioral problems. A way for the students to behave appropriately and follow the rules of the classroom is to try to have similar rules at school that they would most likely have at their homes. In the book Principles of Classroom Management: A Professional Decision-Making Model it says, "When classroom guidelines and rules match the culture of the students' home community, the likelihood that students will behave appropriately is increased." (Levin & Nolan, 2014, p. 15).
Also, to have good classroom management and to reach its' goal is to have good relationships with the students' parents. For example, if a student is acting up and it is not like them to act that way it is always a good thing to have a good relationship with the parents and to contact them when a problem like that happens and to see if there is anything going on outside of school. It even states in the book Principles of Classroom Management: A Professional Decision-Making Model that parents involvement can help increase students to have a higher academic achievement (Levin & Nolan, 2014, p.15). The goal of classroom management can also happen when a teacher comes up with a good lesson plan. I want my students to really get involved and by doing that the lesson plan has to be interesting. For example, using lessons that the students can relate to in their home life or culture can make them become more involved and stay on task. Doing all these strategies are good ways to achieve classroom management and can make a teacher's classroom run so much smoother.
